Waikato Film Hub crew 2021

Waikato Film Hub was formed in 2017 under guidance from Creative Waikato and was formally incorporated in May 2019 as the Waikato Film Hub Trust (WFHT).

The Trust has been established to serve the region by encouraging Waikato filmmakers to form connections, celebrate success, and aiding in the creation of locally made film projects.

We are committed to serving the region's youth and indie Waikato filmmakers . We do this by:

Geeta Duppati (Dr) is a senior lecturer at the Waikato Management School, the University of Waikato.

Geeta has expertise in finance, governance, and entrepreneurship. Although she has an academic background, she is connected to the film world as her family runs a movie theatre in India and she takes great interest in watching films. She thinks films bring awareness on matters one never would have known. Geeta is currently the Treasurer for Waikato Film Trust Hub.

Kelly Fritz

Since receiving a Handycam for her thirteenth birthday, Kelly has been a visual storyteller. With her eclectic portfolio of roles and projects she's recently started embracing herself as a creative generalist.
Hailing from Kentucky, her and her husband (and doggo Margot) made the Waikato their home in 2018. They've now settled down on a lovely bit of whenua along the Waitetuna River. Kelly is the co-founder and manager of the Misty Flicks Short Film Showcase, and is currently covering Paige who is on maternity leave, as Chief Executive of WFHT.
